WELCOME

2nd Chance provides safe shelter and supportive services for victims of domestic violence and offers educational outreach to residents of the communities served, empowering victims in their recovery and the public toward intervention in these crimes. Recognizing that domestic violence can be inflicted upon anyone, we welcome and provide services for victims/survivors regardless of their race, gender, immigration status, sexual identity, disability, age, religion, or marital status.

2nd Chance serves Calhoun, Cleburne, Etowah and Talladega Counties in East Alabama providing emergency shelter at confidential locations, permanent housing, court and legal advocacy, individual counseling, safety planning, help with document replacement, lethality assessments, community referrals, and training and presentations on the dynamics of domestic violence, dating violence and abuse in later life.

2nd Chance is a United Way Agency; Member, Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV); Associate Member, National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV); Supported by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, Law Enforcement/Traffic Safety Division and Community Development Office. Financial support comes from individuals, board members, foundations, businesses, anonymous donors, churches, civic groups and from federal, state and local government sources and fundraising events and campaigns.
